How to Get Rewarded
If you are already a BorderPass Member, just click the “Rewards” tab in your account and find your personal referral code. Share it with your friends and family, and for every person who creates a new BorderPass account through your link and pays for any BorderPass service, you both receive credit! No waiting, no confusing redemption process. Your credits build up in your account automatically, ready to use whenever you need them.
Follow These Steps to Get Started
1. Share your unique referral URL. It can be found in your BorderPass account under Rewards and looks like app.borderpass.ai/refer/[your code]. Copy it and share with your friends and family directly.
2. They sign up and pay for any BorderPass service. This can be a study permit, work permit, Express Entry application, visitor visa, or a legal consultation; any paid BorderPass service qualifies.
3. You both get BorderPass credit automatically toward any future service! You get $10, and they get $20. Note that the credit cannot be used on government fees.
4. Track it from your dashboard. Your Rewards page shows your current credit balance and your total amount saved through referrals, updated as each referral qualifies.
Use your credit for any immigration service
Referral credit doesn't expire, so the best way to use the program is to keep referring while you're still moving through your own immigration journey. Here are a few examples of how people actually use it:
Studying? If you need more time to finish your program, put your credit toward a Study Permit Extension.
About to graduate? Apply it to your Post-Graduation Work Permit application, which would allow you to gain valuable work experience after completing your studies.
Questions about next steps? Take the Pathway Assessment to get personalized results for your plan to work and stay longer-term in Canada.
Looking to work? If you're job hunting or moving for a role, use your credit toward a Work Permit application, such as a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP).
Planning on permanent residence? Apply the credit to create your Express Entry profile with full lawyer review.
Have friends and family visiting? Apply credits toward a Visitor Visa.
Referral ideas to help you build up credit fast
The people most likely to say yes are the ones already thinking about coming to Canada. Some places to start:
Friends and family coming to Canada. If someone in your circle is planning a study permit, work permit, or visitor visa application, a referral gets them a lawyer-reviewed process from day one instead of guesswork.
Home country and home school connections. Reach out to people from your school, program, or hometown who are earlier in the same process you've already been through. You already know what they're about to face.
Social media and student groups. Share your link in WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups, or subreddits for incoming students to your school or program. One post can reach dozens of people at the exact moment they're deciding how to handle their application.
Classmates and coworkers. Anyone going through a similar visa category as you — same school, same employer, same program — is a warm referral, because you can speak to your own experience with BorderPass directly.
Alumni and community networks. If you're part of an alumni association, cultural association, or newcomer community group, those networks tend to have a steady stream of people about to start the exact process you already finished.
