The Opportunity

Are you a front-end engineer with a passion for clean design, fast performance, and next-gen AI? Want to build tech that actually helps people? BorderPass is hiring a Software Engineer (Front-End, GenAI Integration) to join our growing team.

In this role, you’ll work on the front lines of product development, crafting responsive, accessible, and AI-enhanced interfaces that support thousands of users navigating the Canadian immigration system. You’ll collaborate with designers, marketers, and engineers to translate ideas into elegant, production-ready code. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape how GenAI tools can drive better user outcomes—while building scalable systems in a high-velocity environment. If you’re excited about blending performance-focused front-end engineering with emerging AI integrations, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Join a high-velocity engineering team helping thousands of users navigate the Canadian immigration system with ease. As a front-end engineer, you’ll collaborate with product, marketing, and fellow developers to deliver fast, accessible, and GenAI-enhanced user experiences.
  • Translate Figma designs into responsive, production-grade interfaces—or design directly from product requirements when needed
  • Build intuitive, mobile-friendly, and performant UIs using modern front-end frameworks
  • Explore and define integration pathways for GenAI-powered features alongside our AI and product teams
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and help build a scalable codebase that can grow with the company
  • Partner with quality engineers to define and execute testing strategies that enable rapid iteration and smooth deployments
  • Take initiative to learn and apply new tools that improve development speed, usability, and cross-team collaboration
  • Offer feedback and mentorship to peers and contribute to the hiring process as we grow a world-class engineering team
  • Thrive in an environment where your work is shipped quickly and used immediately—giving you a front-row seat to the impact you’re making

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of experience building and maintaining complex web applications
  • Strong fluency in JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks such as ReactJS
  • Proven ability to implement Figma designs accurately and efficiently—or work directly from product specs when needed
  • High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance—you approach front-end work as building infrastructure, not just UI
  • Passion for creating accessible, user-centered design that performs well across devices
  • Curiosity for GenAI and emerging tech, and a desire to experiment with what’s next in user interaction
  • Analytical mindset and a strong sense of technical ownership—you think long-term and design for scale
  • Great communication and collaboration skills—you enjoy learning from others and helping the team succeed
  • Bonus: experience with containerized environments, AWS, or previous startup/scale-up environments
